Minimum Essential Coverage Plans (MEC)

A MEC plan is a qualified insurance plan that meets the Affordable Care Act requirements for Employer sponsored health care coverage for employees. The MEC plan only offers protective coverage and has a limited (government mandate) list of covered prescriptions, vaccinations, and diagnostic tests.
